ArborSculpture!!!

Woah

Never seen or heard of this before

people are warping trees as they grow to make designs out the trees themselves

No idea how long this must take, but the end result is phenomenal

I would def pay money for an outdoor chair

i certainly wouldn't mind a tree warped into the shape of a big tree...house.

  3. Hi this is Becky form Pooktre
Arborsculpture relates to Richard Reames's method of shaping trees.
At Wikipedia there was a consensus that a neutral name was needed for the artform, and Tree shaping was decided upon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_shaping

You may be also interested in visiting this website http://www.treeshapers.net which shows photos from all the different tree shapers from around the world.

None of these trees where shaped using the Arborsculpture extreme bending method.

  4. And this is Richard Reames who is getting tired of this cyberstalking word redefiner. Arborsculpture IS the the correct word for this art of shaping tree trunks. The word was coined in 1995 and unifys the field under one name. The photos above ARE called arborsculptures. There never was any consensus at Wikipedia just a lot of edit wars that may continue. The definitive book on the subject is called Arborsculpture- Solutions for a Small Planet- 2005 see http://arborsmith.com for lots more photos of shaped trees.
